Cat Hotel After 6 Years

It has been an amazing 6-year journey.

We started from a very different place—initially as a cat café with additional services. Over time, that idea evolved, shifted, and eventually transformed into what is now Canggu Cat Center. Looking back, it has truly been a rollercoaster. There were countless problems to solve, constant learning, and many moments that tested our direction.

But along the way, we also met incredible people—pawrents, veterinarians, rescuers, and foundations—each of them shaping how we see and care for cats today. There have been many challenges, but also many blessings.

For those who have known our center since the beginning, you’ve seen this evolution firsthand. From a cat café during the pandemic, we slowly realized that our focus needed to change. It became less about the café, and more about the cats themselves.

That shift changed everything.

We began to rebuild our service from the ground up—not based on trends, but based on real experience, observation, and a deeper understanding of cats. Over time, we refined our approach, adjusted our systems, and reshaped our space. Step by step, we grew into a cat hotel that truly understands cats—not just as pets, but as individuals with different needs, personalities, and boundaries.

What 6 Years Taught Us

Running a cat hotel is not just about providing a place to stay.

It’s about understanding stress signals, respecting personal space, and creating an environment where cats feel safe—even when they are away from home. It’s about small details: the way we approach them, how we clean, how we observe, and when we choose to give space instead of interaction.

We learned that:

  • Not all cats want attention—and that’s okay

  • Quiet, consistency, and routine matter more than aesthetics

  • Trust is built slowly, but it’s everything

  • Owners don’t just leave their cats—they leave their peace of mind with us

This understanding didn’t come overnight. It came from years of trial and error, from mistakes, from listening, and from continuously improving.

Still Growing

Even after 6 years, we don’t see ourselves as “finished.” We are still learning. Still improving. Still refining what a cat center should be—because cats keep teaching us.

Today, we are entering a new phase.

We are evolving into Bali Cat Center, along with a move to a quieter space in Tabanan. Our current location in Canggu has become increasingly loud and busy—and if you live in Canggu, you understand how much it has changed. This move is not just about location. It’s about alignment.

A quieter environment allows us to stay true to what we believe: that cats need calm, stability, and space to feel safe.

At Bali Cat Center, we are also improving how we care:

  • A quieter, more controlled environment in Tabanan

  • Someone staying in-house, so cats are never truly left alone

  • Additional caretakers to accompany and observe the cats more closely

  • Using tofu litter as our main standard—for better hygiene and a cleaner environment

  • Collaborating more with professionals such as veterinarians, groomers, and other trusted partners

These are not just features—they are part of our continuous effort to do better. And as we continue this journey, our goal remains the same: to build a place that truly understands and respects cats, while giving their humans peace of mind.
