Why You Should Spay and Neuter Your Cats

First we need to know what is Spay and what is Neuter, so Spay is the surgical removal of a female cat's ovaries and uterus, while Neuter is the removal of male cat's testicals.

Reason 1 : In Indonesia, you can easily find a stray cat on the street, some live healthy, but some suffer, many cat-lover try to rescue and taking care of this stray cat, and build cat shelter. Spaying or Neutering your cat prevents unwanted birth, which helps reduce overpopulation in shelters. Millions of unwanted animals end up in shelters or on the streets each year. Only a lucky few are adopted. 

Reason 2 : Many cat owner have hard time from cats sexual behavior, such as spraying, roaming, howling of female cats in heat. After Spaying or Neutering, cats sexual behavior will eliminated. Regardless of their age when neutered, neutering reduces roaming, urine spraying, and fights with neighborhood cats. The plaintive howling of female cats in heat is eliminated.

This way, there is no more extreme behavior, that would cause stress to other.

Reason 3 : Your female cats will live longer and healthier life, because spaying prevent uterine infections and breast tumors. For male cats, neuter will prevent testicular cancer and some prostate problems. After spaying or neuter, cats hormone also become more stable thus make them generally healthier.

Spaying and Neuter, is a save operation for cats, and will benefit both cat and paw-rent; the important thing to do is to find a vet that have expertise in spaying and neutering, also to take a good care of our cat, when they healing.
